Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Decolonize Politics.

What is the Decolonize Politics campaign about?

Decolonize Politics is a movement dedicated to challenging colonial legacies in governance, policies, and political discourse. We work to amplify marginalized voices, advocate for systemic change, and educate people on how colonial history still shapes today’s political systems.

What are the main themes of the Decolonize Politics campaign?

Our campaign focuses on five key areas: Civic and Democratic Participation, Disarmament & Peacebuilding, Climate Justice, Indigenous Rights and Gender Justice & Feminism. These themes are deeply interconnected with colonial histories, and we work to address their lasting impact by promoting policies that foster equity and justice.

How can I get involved?

You can support the movement by educating yourself, sharing resources, attending our events, and advocating for policy change. We also offer volunteering and partnership opportunities – visit the Get Involved page to learn more.

Is this campaign only for people from formerly colonized countries?

No! While the campaign centres the experiences of historically marginalized communities, decolonization is a global issue that affects everyone. We welcome allies who want to challenge systemic inequalities and push for more just and inclusive political systems.

Are there resources to help me learn more?
